It's Good To Have A Big Brother
Let’s face it, sometimes the world has too much masculine energy, or at least finds it expressed in extreme and often disruptive or even destructive ways. But when we consider the state of the world right now, it could use some of POSITIVE masculine power to help right our course. Like a Big Brother to intervene when the neighborhood bully gets on a tear.Shamans always talk of power, but perhaps not in the way you think. It’s not of the ego or even of a powerful body, but rather the power of the heart they are referring to. An empowered heart is the conduit for spiritual connection and the stamina to keep the channel open, no matter the difficulty. Many times on the shamanic journey one will encounter all sorts of trials and obstacles which require power to overcome. It can be the power of cunning, or stealth or dozens of others, but sometimes it’s plain old weighty masculine power that’s called for.
That is exactly the essence of the Manwand, a commanding ally to have around when some strong masculine energy is required in your spiritual healing work.
It is made from the root of a red oak tree, so it spent its entire existence below ground, burrowing into the stubborn rocky hilltop where the tree grew. It took power to do that. And strength.
It has a small quartz crystal to focus its energy, and an emerald chip anchored with copper near the tip to amplify it.
Three colors of earth-tone lacing, two of suede and one of smooth leather represent body, mind and Spirit. And the lacing holds four large, solid copper beads used to conduct the power of each of the sacred directions.
In a cavity at the base end is a length of mottled crimson petrified wood affixed with finished leather. Its color is associated with the base chakra and the energies of tribal and feminine energy, vital to the true leavening of male power as a force for good.All in all, the Manwand is a rugged and influential warrior brother to have available when you face tough challenges in helping others or when you feel your own power waning.
