The Shaman Sun King Drum is back after a short hiatus. Like all Thunder Valley Drums, this one has been in the center of many of our drumming and healing circles, part of a tradition of preparing a drum for service with a healer. But when it came time to part with this trusty and wise compatriot, I wanted to linger a while longer. Sometimes it is hard to let go.
But it is now time for it to become the King it was meant to be.
The Shaman Sun King offers safety and protection through the strength of a thick hickory frame that withstood a direct lightning strike, yet survived. Knowing that is to know it is a strong partner to help power up your healing intentions with the vitality of light and the rhythm of healing. When it is time to help someone heal, rely on the best: your heart and a strong drum, the King of drums.

Features:
- Lightning-struck Hickory with protective finish
- Size: Approximately 10-inches across and 6-inches high
- Weight: Approximately 4 pounds
- Inlaid, hand-dyed leather band, with painted wings outline
- Unique tie-downs made from lightning-struck, painted crossbars tied with rawhide laces to painted posts
- Genuine goatskin top
- Custom beater (substantially upgraded from the one shown)
- Genuine TVD insignia with an emerald chip buried beneath it, plus two other posts, all used to secure the drum to a stand (per graphic below, "The Anatomy of The Sun King Drum")
- In the way of the ancients, whenever a drum had a natural hole in it, a plant or thong of leather was placed through it. I prefer to use woven sweet grass, a symbol of the great spiral. The Sun King has such an opening (see graphic at bottom), which I call the "Sweet Grass Portal."
