You will find hidden secrets and powerful medicine in this unique and beautiful piece.
Once the root ball and base of a real locust tree, this sacred Earth treasure seems to harbor the likenesses of actual and fanciful animals in its various protrusions. These are all natural and not carved, except by Nature. There's also a small stone that the roots actually grew around and that you can see! (

To incorporate it into a variety of uses during sacred ceremonies, I added two shamanic expressions on its top, a “sacred center” carving, and slightly below that, a “Tree of Life” disc, both finished with an antique finish. In all, it tells the story of the “Three Worlds,” Upper, Middle and Lower.
And the piece has secrets, as you will discover...
The “Sacred Center”
Carving on Top:
Powerful medicine is portrayed with the kingly figure of a carved lion surrounded by four serpents, each pointing to a sacred direction. Symbolically, the piece tells the story of the
shaman’s long journey to transmuting the ego by finding the real power in the heart, the sacred center from which springs the intention of seeking to help others heal.
You will be surprised to find secrets when the serpents are removed from their guardian positions, and that each has a copper “tail” studded by gemstones associated with its particular direction.
Tree of Life Disc:
This beautiful symbol of the cycle of life and healing is portrayed first as a hand-cut and stained 10-inch sun. It is as if the star’s explosive energy then spreads outward through concentric circles, beginning with a Celtic Tree of Life and the Oriental symbols for wood, fire, water and earth on the inner circle. From these raw materials the energy then reaches to the outer circle, the realm of the shamans, represented here by a miniature painting of a 30,000-year-old Paleolithic shamanic image first discovered in a French cave, and the likenesses of an African medicine mask and Native American dancing shaman.
And finally, deep inside the base of the stand, in a natural opening, is a secreted medicine bag, a special gift just for you.
So the stand itself represents the Three Worlds, with an Upper, Middle and Lower component, actually demonstrated through a section of a real tree, including its roots.
Use the three leather lace ties that come along with the stand to secure any drum with an opening on the bottom of no more than 9 ½-inches wide and no less than 2-inches deep.
In addition to its use as a drum stand, this piece can serve as a candelabra or small altar. And even without a drum, it is so unique that it can also be a wonderful sculpture to enjoy.
Price: $175 if purchased separately, or $145 if purchased with a drum. Plus shipping and handling.
Notes & Dimensions:
The top pieces are finished in an antique style, and the wood is finished with a light preserving coating, making it okay to use outside, but not in wet conditions.
Height: 16-inches
Width: 19-inches
