Why a grown man should have such a lasting love affair with a plant can be found in my free eBooklet,The Tree, The Shrub And Something Called The Ain Soph Aur, about why I make sacred drums and other spiritual objects from damaged lightning-struck trees and ruined lilac trimmings, among other things. Suffice it here to acknowledge that I find deep and beautiful mysteries in the simple observation of a lilac’s profound visual demonstration of existence. Thus found, the mystery can become the intention, and the intention can lead to spiritual expression.
But beyond the esoteric, one can also simply say that lilac jewelry
is beautiful to behold, so long as the jewelry maker stays out of the
way. The lilac wood used in this jewelry is the result of a pruning that followed a feasting by a tribe
of insects. Fair enough, for the lilac plant was not harmed in the
sacrifice of some of its branches, and in fact prospered as a result of
the pruning. The tribe made out okay, too, moving on to its next meal
in the backyard garden and propagating its kind in the Great Wheel of
Life.
So it was for me a wonderful opportunity to gather the remains, clean out the damaged areas, and help the Lilac express its beauty in a new way. As a student of mine once said of my outlook on such, “It’s a ‘love’ thing.” Indeed. And sacred, too.
So, it is that I offer these humble necklaces. Each is a one-of-a-kind, never to be duplicated, in fact impossible to duplicate. So that is why they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once they are gone, they are gone. Ordering details are at the bottom of this page.

(SOLD) TVD520 “Three In One” Lilac Necklace:
(Left) If you look closely at the center of the large Lilac Disk, you will see
three small dots that formed when the plant was growing. This I took to
represent the Body, Mind and Spirit. So the theme is repeated with
three total Lilac disks joined together with one continuous leather
lacing that also serves as a 30-inch tie-back necklace. (Disks measure: Large is
maximum 2 1/4-inches round, Bottom is 5/8-inch round, and Top is about 1-inch round)

TVD527w “Sacred Directions” Lilac Necklace:

honor the four sacred directions, a theme repeated in the four tails of
lacing emerging from the bottom. (The dual butterscotch/white deerskin
lace serves as a 30-inch tie-back necklace. Large pendant is about 2-inches across and is
3/8-inch thick. The smaller pendant is about 7/8-inch round and 3/8-inch thick.) $16

needed much preparation work, but it survived to carry a message of the
Ain Soph, beautifully depicted in the center rings. (Thong necklace of brown
calf leather and round black leather cord is highlighted by copper crimpers
and is adjustable to 30-inches or so. Disk is maximum of 1 1/4-inches round and
